Synopsis for the 1st Story
As the raging fire caused by Inferno continues to expand across the Amazon rainforest, Mr. Terrific and Red Tornado assess the situation from the Watchtower. Mr. Terrific attempts to find a solution to their problem, and with Levi Kamei incinerated, there is only one person that can help the Justice League.
Tefé, daughter of Alec Holland, is visiting a botanical garden until he is visited by Terrific, who is desperate for her help. Initially, Tefé refuses because she doesn't want anything to do with superheroes, until she too is affected by the damage caused to the Green and Mr. Terrific explains what's happening over at the Amazon. He teleports her to the Amazon, where the League is still trying to contain the fire and evacuate civilians. Once Terrific returns to the Watchtower, the League's mages and wizards charge Tefé up with magic to protect her from the fire. Their plan is to connect Tefé to the Green to speed up the forest's natural healing.
Meanwhile, Batman has located Martian Manhunter in Egypt and even deduced what has been affecting him ever since their conflict with Amanda Waller. J'onn distanced himself from his friends, not because the loss of his telepathy had weakened him, but because without his telepathy, he felt he had lost control of his powers and would become a danger to the League. Batman tells J'onn not to indulge in his self-pity and to return to the League so they can solve his problem together.
Dr. Occult, having tried to track Inferno down, is thrown back into the Amazon and the fire grows worse. Tefé takes Aquaman deep into the Green so they can find Levi. She explains that Levi didn't die when his body burned to ash. Instead, he was sent back to the Green so he could heal, but the damage to the Amazon is affecting the Green to the point that it is releasing moisture in multiple directions. Using his hydrokinesis, Aquaman controls the moisture streams so they can find Levi faster. They find a member of Infero standing in their way, so Tefé summons the Parliament of Trees to attack him while Aquaman awakens Levi with his telepathy. With Levi revitalized, the rainforest is saved and the mission is completed.
The unidentified member of Inferno returns to his base of operations, where he is informed by the other members of Inferno that their plans continue unopposed and Air Wave, their infiltrator, remains hidden.
