Synopsis for "Max Lord: Rebirth"
Imprisoned by Amanda Waller, Maxwell Lord recalls how he was captured. After attacking one of Waller's trains Max laid his hand on Waller's arm which caused her to knock him out and to take him for questioning.
After more interrogations Lord opens up to Waller about his parents, his deceased troubled genius father and his bereaving powerful mother who compelled him to take power with whatever he could. He also recalls how he rose to power within Checkmate; he and the Black King Jason Cameron were trapped and due to fight to the death against some cultists before Lord convinced the Black King to sacrifice himself for the greater good. Waller also implies that he cleared out the other powers within Checkmate using his manipulative powers.
Lord and Waller begin to recall the day Darkseid invaded but Maxwell begins to flex his power to get Waller to reveal the location of the prisoners he was seeking, as guards are summoned he persuades them to his side and walks out a free man.
Two nights later Lord stands before his family's graves and promises to get the power he deserves.
