Hey-- Four-eyes! Those are some nifty threads you've slipped into-- But what'd you do with the rest of the tablecloth? Listen-- Did I tell you how much I liked your last Flash story? About as much as I like having an unclean yak sit on my dinner! Some writer you are! Your dialogue reads like an excerpt from a Burmese phonebook! If you're such a great plot-man, why don't you plot yourself out of this story and give us all a break? 
Justice League of America #124 is an issue of the series Justice League of America (Volume 1) with a cover date of November, 1975.
Synopsis for "Avenging Ghosts of the Justice Society"
While the Justice League fills in for the deceased Justice Society members in combating crime on Earth-Two, the villainous Cary Bates kidnaps fellow writer Elliot S! Maggin in an animated word balloon, and uses him to lure the heroes into a battle with the Injustice Society. Bates's magical powers cause the heroes to see images of the dead JSA members during the battle and, overcome with guilt, they start to lose. The day is saved by Maggin and the Spectre, the former bombarding Bates with insults, breaking his concentration, and causing him to lose control of his creations, the latter returning from the beyond to restore the other Justice Society members to life. The JLA and JSA team up to defeat the villains. Cary Bates is restored to normal, and he and Maggin are re-turned to Earth-Prime by Johnny Thunder's Thunderbolt, while the Spectre returns to his ghostly domain as he erases the JSA heroes' memories of their temporary deaths.

- This issue is reprinted in:
- The Spectre's status quo is apparently rewritten in this issue from previous continuity. In Justice League of America #83, the Spectre sacrificed himself to save Earth-1 and Earth-2 from destruction, but he is somehow alive once more in this issue and still bound to Jim Corrigan's grave as established in Adventure Comics #440. This may be due to the fact that the former issue was published 4 years before the latter and this issue.
Trivia
- The end of this story teases a new series to star the Justice Society to be entitled "Super Squad." This title is eventually launched as All-Star Comics instead.
- The Justice Society members who were accidentally killed by the Justice League in the previous issue are literally revived by deus ex machina, as the Spectre intercedes with God himself to bring the JSAers back to life.
