Synopsis for "Lest Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot ..."

Superman, Wonder Woman, and the Flash travel to the Justice League satellite and find it destroyed. They are puzzled by the destruction in the few hours they had been gone, especially when Superman finds a Soviet spy satellite loaded with explosives nearby, so the trio goes to Russia for answers. Their proximity to the satellite has triggered an alarm in the new Justice League headquarters, and the new team tracks their former teammates. The Russian Air Force greets the trio's invasion of their air space with missiles, then fighters, but the heroes land without injury. They are surrounded by troops and met by a general and a man possessing the keyboard of their old foe Anton Allegro. His melodies paralyze them, and they are captured by General Anton Gorki, who wishes to use them as a bargaining chip to restore himself to commander of the Red Army, as well as being named Party Chairman. Meanwhile, the new Justice League has sent Steel, Elongated Man, and Dale Gunn to use Hank Heywood's CIA contacts to figure out why the three heroes have gone to the Soviet Union, but Heywood is more intent on pointing out the police records of Vibe and Gypsy, along with Ralph Dibny's alleged shady past, to the point that his grandson throws him through a window. Only Elongated Man's intervention prevents further battling, and Steel and Elongated Man leave without getting the information they wanted. As the three Justice League members lie paralyzed in Gorki's winter estate, an inmate reveals that Anton Allegro has escaped his asylum in the U.S., and has returned to the land of his parents' births. However, he has fallen into the asylum of the very mad general who now intends to execute one of the three heroes to penalize his country for refusing his demands, thus risking a war between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R.
