My Creator's sense of humor is twisted... Usually I come back a mindless monster, my personality and intelligence always slightly shifting. Last time, I came back dumb...the time before that, I was softened...docile. Still, with each death, I'm forced to start again -- ignoring the splinters that stab my fingernails...belching the bitter swamp water that lingers on my tongue until I dry out...and then clawing my way back...to yet another miserable existence.

Synopsis for "The Tornado's Path, Chapter Five: Born Again"
In Ivo's lab, Black Canary tends to the fallen, and bleeding, Red Tornado as Green Lantern and Arsenal trade barbs with Solomon Grundy. Grundy explains that his personality and intelligence shift with each reincarnation and he wants to achieve immortality and end the cycle.
Meanwhile, Amazo tries to reconcile it's confused memories of being both Red Tornado and Amazo and heads for home (Red Tornado's home, that is) where Kathy has been trying unsuccessfully to contact Red Tornado via his communicator. Grundy reveals that they had removed the beacon from Red Tornado's body and the heroes decide to team up with Grundy to get Amazo back.
In Markovia, Brion Markov is examined by Alina Raileanu after surviving the attempt on his life.
In the skies above Iowa, Vixen's memories have been supressed under the onslaught of the morphogenic field. She spots a young boy and uses her power to latch onto him allowing her the chance she needs to remember and fight the feelings. Again in control of herself she focuses on the stolen Totem and flies towards the source.
Back at the lab, the four heroes discuss their chances at taking on Amazo when Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl and Black Lightning - who were tracing the Starros - appear and join them. Grundy tells them that Amazo is heading for Manhattan and Ivo activates T. O. Morrow's teleporter.
Amazo enters the Sutton residence awakening Kathy who rushes to make sure Traya is alright. Amazo enters the room and Kathy fires a Mega Rod at him which she got from Big Barda after Sue Dibny's death. Amazo vows revenge as the heroes enter the teleporter and arrive to fight him. Grundy, however, had grabbed Red Tornado before he could enter and they remain at the lab.
