Personal History

Justin Scott Hartley was born on January 29, 1977 in Knoxville, Illinois. He was raised in Orland Park, Illinois, with his brother Nathan and his sisters Megan and Gabriela. He graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park and thereafter attended the Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and the University of Illinois at Chicago where he majored in history and theater.

In 2017, Justin Hartley married the actress Chrishell Stause. They reside in Valley Glen, Los Angeles.

Professional History

Actor Justin Hartley first appeared on TV as the series regular Nicholas Foxworth "Fox" Crane in the NBC daytime soap opera Passions from 2002 to 2006.

In 2006, he portrayed Arthur Curry in the pilot for an Aquaman television series. When the pilot went unsold, he was cast by the same production company as Oliver Queen for Smallville. He appeared in that series from the sixth season until the series finale in 2011. For the ninth season he co-wrote the episode "Sacrifice" and directed the tenth season episode "Dominion".
