- A group of Gorilla-Men seen in this issue are part of a group called the Plumbers Squad. These apes are descended from the Watergate Apes revealed in flashback in the second story in Kamandi #43.

- Watergate was the name of a hotel in Washington, D.C. and the scene of a political scandal that ultimately ended the career of Richard Nixon. At the time of this issue's publication, President Nixon was still in office.
- Kamandi is shown singing the lyrics to Yellow Submarine, a song made popular by the British rock & roll band, the Beatles in 1966.
