Kenny Stanton was the first Payback and son of the second. He was an enemy of Batman.

History

Kenny Stanton was a young boy who was neglected by his workaholic, psychologist father, Gray Stanton. Kenny decided that the best way to get his father's attention was to assault the people who were the source of the patient's problems. He donned a suit of powered armor and became the "vigilante" dubbed Payback. Kenny was eventually caught by Batman and sent to Juvenile Hall.

Ashamed by his son's actions, Gray disowned Kenny and never visited him. Kenny was also relentlessly bullied and abused by his fellow inmates, which led to Kenny committing suicide. Devastated by the death of his son, yet refusing to acknowledge his partial responsibility for the tragedies that befell Kenny, Gray instead chose to blame Batman and swore revenge, becoming the new Payback.
