Kent V. Nelson was a former psychiarist named after his great uncle, Kent Nelson. After the events of Infinite Crisis which brought upon and the Tenth Age of Magic in the aftermath of the decemation of Nabu and most of the Lords of Order and Chaos, the Helmet of Fate chose the younger Kent as the new Doctor Fate. The younger Kent would later become a member of the Justice Society.
Kent V. Nelson was created by Steve Gerber and Justiniano, first appearing in Countdown to Mystery #1 (2007).
