Kid Eternity #1 is an issue of the series Kid Eternity (Volume 1) with a cover date of March, 1946.

Synopsis for "Terror from the Tomb"

In the library, Kid Eternity learns from Mister Keeper about the Tuggoths, devilish creatures that tormented humankind until they were defeated by King Tut. That night, Egyptologists Gregory Manders and Henry La Verne are murdered. The next morning, Kid Eternity reads about the murders in the newspaper, and he realizes that it must've been the Tuggoths.

Kid Eternity and Mister Keeper travel to Cairo to protect Sir Alfred Newmark, the last authority on ancient Egypt. When they arrive, Sir Newark is being attacked by a Tuggoth, and Kid Eternity summons Atlas to defeat the creature. The Egyptologist dies from his injuries anyway, but not before revealing that the secret to defeating the Tuggoths lies in the pyramid of Tut-ankh-amun, so the duo head there.

At the pyramid, Mister Keeper stands guard at the entrance, while Kid Eternity investigates its interior, summoning various spirits along the way to help him. Finally, to defeat the Tuggoths once and for all, Kid Eternity realizes he can just ask the man who defeated the Thuggoths in the first place to learn their weakness, and summons King Tut, who reveals that the pyramid was created to imprison the creatures. After Kid eternity evacuates the pyramid, King Tut sets it alight with the Tuggoths inside, finishing the work that he had begun millennia ago. And so, Kid Eternity sends the King back to eternity after a job well done.

Synopsis for "The Black Diamond of Doom"

A blackguard named Kali murders his mentor to get his hands on a legendary black diamond that supposedly brings death to its owners, only to find it's not in his safe. When Keeper brings the death of his old enemy up to Chris, he decides it's their duty to deal with Kali before his pursuit of the diamond brings death to the innocent. Kali proves a worthy foe indeed, managing to overcome the heroes Kid Eternity summons to battle him, until they duel on a speed boat and Kali's knocked to a watery grave. Keeper remarks Kid managed to do what none of the heroes he summoned did, but he refutes it, saying he learned valuable lessons from all of them. To make sure the curse of the diamond, real or only in the minds of the avaricious men who'd do anything to own it, never strikes again, Kid throws it into the ocean. It drifts down into Kali's hand, finally his, but only in death.
