King Shark was a pirate captain and one of the prisoners in the Castle of El's dungeons.

History

Shortly before the El's revealed themselves to the world, King Shark and his crew were hired by the ruler of Lemuria Emperor Manta to capture Arthur; the rightful heir to the throne. They ambushed Arthur and his adopted parents on the road but Arthur fought back, punching his fist into King Shark's chest. King Shark survived as his heart is not in his chest but his crew fled. King Shark told Arthur's guardians about Manta and that others would be coming for them too. Jim Gordon imprisoned King Shark for his crimes.

Eighteen years later, King Shark was still imprisoned in the Castle of El's dungeons alongside people who the Bat-Prince had arrested for having unusual powers. He was eventually murdered by a White Martian disguised as Queen Lara.

• King Shark was created by Karl Kesel, first appearing in Superboy (Volume 4) #0. However, the Dark Knights of Steel version of King Shark first appeared in Dark Knights of Steel #2 by Tom Taylor and Yasmine Putri.
