Kingdom was a demonic entity who controlled a dimension known as the Dreadlands.
History
He attempted to gain control of the artifacts that empowered Doctor Fate and his minions killed Fate's former hosts Kent and Inza Nelson, but Kingdom was thwarted by their successor, Jared Stevens AKA Fate. He later attempted to gain access to Earth's dimension by using Jared's ex-wife Holly Marsh as an interdimensional gateway, but Jared defeated him again, destroying first his corporeal shell and then apparently the creature of dark energy within.
