Kirk Alyn (b. October 8, 1910 – d.March 14, 1999) became the first actor to portray Superman/Clark Kent in a live action film in two 15 chapter Columbia serials entitled Superman and Atom Man vs. Superman. In 1952 he portrayed Blackhawk in another 15 chapter serial entitled Blackhawk: Fearless Champion of Freedom. In 1978, he made a cameo appearance as Lois Lane's father Samuel Lane in Superman.
