The Klaramarans, or the Faceless Hunters, are a race of orange skinned Saturnians that are notable for their lack of any facial features. The race hail from the planet Klaramar, a world revolving within an atom on the planet Saturn.

History

The Faceless Hunters first come to public attention in 1961 after one of them, Klee Pan, is intercepted trying to steal major world sculptures such as the Mount Rushmore heads and the Easter Island statues. Oregon Highway Patrolmen Bob Colby and Jim Boone were assigned to Mount Rushmore, and confronted Klee Pan, who explained that he comes from Klaramar - a world revolving within an atom on the planet Saturn and he was looking for a stone face left on Earth millennia ago which can help prevent Saturn exploding. He revealed that an evil Faceless Hunter, Chun Yull, has planted an 'ultimate energy time-bomb' and threatened to detonate it unless he is made supreme ruler, but died giving no clues as to where the face, which can defuse the bomb, was hidden. Boone deduced that the face is on Earth's Moon, and Klee Pan took Colby and Boone there and then to Saturn - after cutting the face from the Moon's surface. When the face was destroyed by a trap set by Chan Yull the patrolmen help reconstruct it (using an astronomy book Boone happens to have had in the patrol car), disarmed the bomb and saved the planet. The Faceless Hunters replaced the face on the Moon in gratitude, and Klee Pan gives both men telepathic abilities.[1]

The Faceless Hunters later appeared under the command of Jemm, Son of Saturn who appears to be the de-facto ruler of all three known Saturnian races, including the albino "Koolars", and the yellow skinned "Faceless Hunters".[2]

Powers and Abilities

Powers

  • Size Alteration: The Klaramarians are normally of sub-atomic size, although they can control this, and are often much taller than humans, with a corresponding increase in strength.
  • Telepathy: Klaramarians are telepaths, as their faces evolved to have no need of eyes, nose and mouth.
    • Power Distribution: The Klaramarian Klee Pan also demonstrated the ability to grant a limited gift of telepathy to deserving humans.[1]
    • Mind Control: Chun Yull and Gorr Num had used their telepathic abilities, in conjunction with synaptic destabilization technology, to take control of the mental capacities of others.[3] As they had done with the Global Guardians.[4]
  • Enhanced Senses: Even possessing no eyes, nose and mouth, Klaramarians have enhanced senses of smell, hearing, and can see around 360°.[1]
  • Self-Sustenance: Klee Pan once stated that his species evolved to the point they lacked the need to orally imbibe for the necessary means of vitality intake that most races require to stay alive. Using their very bodies in order to absorb energy in place of needed physiological nutrition to keep their frames in working condition.[5]
  • Absorbing Replication: Klaramarians can also absorb matter and energy into themselves. Either taking in and projecting those differing forces outward, or simply assimilating it into their biophyiscal structure to increase their anatomical dynamism.[3]
  • Superhuman Strength: Klaramarans are many times stronger than humans and most other aliens. This is attributed to their ability to change size as the added skin, bone and muscular density naturally increases to support the additional body mass attained.[5]
  • Flight: Klaramarians have an as of yet undisclosed capacity of flight, unabated by technological means.[6]
  • Superhuman Durability: Klaramarians possess greatly magnified physical resilience than an average human and most aliens. Being able to grow to tremendous sizes and still support their own body weight without fear of crumbling under the stress as well as endure heavy assault from artillery fire or even superhuman infraction.[4]
