Synopsis for "Chapter Eight: For My Sins"

Zod flies out of the ship and attacks Sinestro. They fight until they stalemate and Sinestro decides to talk. He explains that he was tracking an emerald energy signature and Zod realises he is talking about the Eye. Zod tells Sinestro that the Eye is long gone and threatens him to leave but Sinestro points out they're evenly matched and Zod begrudgingly admits he's right. They go on board and UEL-9 tells Zod that the ship is damaged beyond repair, leaving them adrift. Sinestro tells them that they are relatively close to the planetoid Talus, which is made up of discarded technology which they could scavenge for parts. Sinestro leaves, saying he still has work to do. Before he goes he tells Zod that he has met his son but Zod replies that Lor-Zod is on his own path.

Zod pushes the ship to Talus and they arrive twenty-seven cycles later. They land on Talus and the Legion begin scavenging from the wrecks. Zod goes out alone and again the vision of Jor-El appears. Zod attacks his rival but is unable to harm him as he is not actually there. He screams that he will find Superman and destroy him and everything he loves. The vision of Jor-El turns into a statue and collapses.

When the repairs are complete, Zod orders the Dereliction to set course for Khundia.
