Synopsis for "Night Magic"

Mary has always considered her superhero duties to be the easier part of her life and her life at the Vasquez household to be the real challenge. Exhausted after yet another day of work, she crashes on the couch and falls sleep. Suddenly, her siblings awaken Mary and tell her a fire broke out at their house and they need water to put it. Mary is shocked to discover that the house is now in the middle of a desert.

Mary transforms into her superhero form in an attempt to help her siblings, only for Shazam, now dressed in a uniform similar to that of Black Adam, to hover above her. His eyes burning red, Shazam summons a lightning bolt that destroys the house, with the children inside. Terrified, Mary attempts to fly back into the house, but Shazam grabs her arm, telling her that their siblings are dead because of her. He even turns back into Billy to taunt her about her failure to protect their family.

Billy says that both the waking world and dreams have become to dangerous for her and disappears, but not before summoning another lightning bolt that removes Mary's powers. With no powers to fall back on, Mary runs back into her house and attempts to save her siblings, but she finds no one in the house. Through sheer force of will, Mary whispers the magic word in the real world and awakens from her dream. She is relieved to find her siblings alive and unharm, but her relief doesn't last long when she finds that her parents now look like monsters. Mary realizes that whatever is causing her nightmares is also affecting the real world, as well.

A few days later, Mary's parents decide to take her to a specialist working at a sleep center. They board a limo equipped with a pool and the driver, revealed to be Insomnia, taunts Mary about the Nightmare Stone and how he will use it to cause nightmares everywhere. He attemps to drive the limo off a cliff, but Mary transforms into Mary Marvel just in time to save her parents. Wanting to keep her parents safe, Mary tells them to stay behind while she ventures deep into the sleep center. There, she is forced to switch back into her regular form to gain entrance but she is knocked unconscious by an unknown assailant.

When she awakens, Mary finds herself strapped to table, while Shazam torments her with visions about the deaths of her siblings. Mary attempts to say the magic word, but only water comes out of her mouth. Shazam walks to a terrified Mary and whisper the magic word to her hear and, suddenly, everything goes black.
