Quote1 Your forgiveness means more to me than you will ever know, Kori. But... I will never forgive myself. Quote2
Blackfire src

Queen Komand'r, also known as Blackfire, is the older sister of Starfire and the queen of Tamaran.

Early life

It was said that Komand'r sold her sister, Koriand'r to save Tamaran, which was taken over by the Blight.

Red Hood and the Outlaws

Koriand'r was bitter towards Komand'r and the people of Tamaran for her enslavement. After Kori fought her way free, she was praised as a hero and Kom gave her a ship to leave Tamaran but that wasn't enough to repair the rift between them. When Roy Harper was captured by the Blight, Kom visited him in his cell and appeared to be working with the Blight.[1]

Roy's capture was revealed to be a mission to rescue Komand'r and Roy took her and teleported back to Koriand'r and Jason Todd. The two sisters reunited in a teary conversation and Kori forgave her sister.[2] The four of them worked together to take back Tamaran. They returned to Tamaran in Kori's ship and fought the Blight's soldiers alongside some of the Starfire's crew members. When Kom got stabbed in the back with a spear by the Blight leader, Kori's emotions overwhelmed her and she unleashed an energetic shock wave that wiped out everything in sight.[3]

When the smoke cleared, Kori held the defeated Blight leader. After the battle, Kom asked Kori to stay but Kori refused and wanted to return to Earth with Jason and her boyfriend, Roy. After bidding her sister farewell, Kom gave her and her companions a ship to return to Earth.

    • Solar/Ultraviolet Metabolization: Tamaraneans can absorb and process stellar radiation, which provides them with incredible strength and vitality.[4]
      • Flight: The absorption of stellar energy also enables Tamaraneans to defy gravity and fly without the need of artificial enhancements.[5]
        • Interstellar Travel: Some of the stronger Tamaraneans are able to traverse the cosmos at light speed so long as they have copious amounts of extra-stellar energy to subside on.[6]
      • Superhuman Durability: Tamaraneans are incredibly robust to all known forms of injury and abrasion. Being able to survive in the cold vacuous expanse of deep space, resist the intense surface heat of stars and traversal within reach of a Black Hole's event horizon with little irritation.[7][8]
      • Superhuman Stamina
      • Superhuman Speed
      • Superhuman Strength: Tamareans possess higher levels of physical strength compared to humans.
      • Tactile Linguistic Assimilation: All Tamaraneans possess the ability to psychophysically learn another species or ethnicity's vocabulary with little more than a simple touch or passing graze. The most effective means of doing so is usually through lip to lip oral contact with another recipient of the desired community.[citation needed]
