History

When Starfire's sister Blackfire shows up to visit, Starfire just wishes she would leave. Blackfire's wild, cool, and hip -- everything Starfire is not.

When The Titans first met Blackfire, they seemed to like her so much, Starfire was beginning to think they wouldn't need her around anymore. But just as Starfire thought about leaving, a couple of aliens thugs showed up to haul her away. The Titans discovered that Blackfire had framed her sister for crimes in the Centauri System. Blackfire was hauled away to prison, swearing revenge.

Blackfire later broke from prison and wrested control of Tamaran as its new Grand Ruler. Blackfire attempted to get revenge on Star by forcing her to marry a hideous alien. It was actually part of an elaborate plot to receive a mystical red-colored jewel (which the alien held in his possession) which would make her very powerful and almost invincible, called the Jewel of Charta. When her ruse was uncovered, Blackfire was banished from Tamaran and forced to marry the alien, Glgrdsklechhh.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

• Flight: Like her sister, Blackfire can fly with ease.
• Starbolts: Blackfire shoots purple energy blasts from her hands (and her eyes after undergoing the Transformation, the Tamaranean version of puberty) to attack enemies from afar.

Abilities

• Deception: Blackfire deceived her own sister and her friends to think that Blackfire came in peace. Instead, she planned to let Starfire be captured by the Centauri Police and thrown in jail.

• This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Teen Titans and is an adaptation of Blackfire. The original character was created by Marv Wolfman and George Pérez and first appeared in Tales of the New Teen Titans #4.
• Blackfire was voiced by Hynden Walch.
