Krypto the Superdog is a Kryptonian Canine superhero, the leader of the League of Super-Pets, and the partner of Superman.
History
Origins
A strong bond of friendship
Born of Krypton, Krypto was born to Dog-El, and was adopted by Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, becoming their son Kal-El's pet, with whom he formed a great friendship. When Krypton was on the brink of destruction, Krypto saw Kal being placed on a ship to flee, and was going to leave behind, so he ran away from Kal's parents to help him, something they allowed for their son to have a friend, and Krypto comforts Kal after the Kryptonians' deaths.
Heroes of Metropolis
The ship took the duo to a planet called Earth, where Kal was raised by two kind farmers in Kansas, and given the name "Clark Kent", and Krypto nicknamed himself "Bark Kent". Growing up, Krypto became a hero known as "Krypto the Super-Dog", much like Clark, who became Superman, moving to Metropolis, forming a relationship with reporter Lois Lane, and becoming friends with the team of heroes, the Justice League, something that made Krypto jealous. In that time, Krypto and Clark saved many people, and faced villains such as businessman Lex Luthor, who became their archenemy, and freed several of his guinea pigs, including one who did not wish to be separated from Lex.[1]

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the film DC League of Super-Pets and is an adaptation of Krypto. The original character was created by Otto Binder and Curt Swan and first appeared in Adventure Comics #210.
