Laira is an alien super-hero known as Green Lantern and a member of the Green Lantern Corps. The Guardians of the Universe gave her a power ring fueled by willpower to protect Space Sector 112. Her home planet is Jayd. Her father Kentor Omoto was Green Lantern before her, and she had to defeat him when he became the tyrant Golden Dragon. Ke'Haan was her mentor in the Corps, and they would both become members of the Lost Lanterns. She later became a member of the Red Lantern Corps after killing Amon Sur in a fit of rage for murdering Ke'Haan's family. Laira was created by Ruben Diaz and Travis Charest, first appearing in Green Lantern Corps Quarterly #6. (1993)
