The Loch Trevor Monster is a legendary creature that is said to dwell in Loch Trevor, Scotland. In truth, the monster owes its existence to the experiments of the Evil Factory.
History
Jimmy Olsen and the Newsboy Legion investigated the existence of the Loch Trevor Monster on assignment by Morgan Edge, although Edge's true purpose was to set them up to be executed and dumped in the lake by Intergang hitmen. The Loch Trevor Monster capsized the small fishing boat Jimmy, the Newsboys, and their would-be assassin had boarded, and the killer was drowned. Moreover, the emergence of the monster from the lake clued Jimmy and the Newsboys on the proximity of the Evil Factory to the lake, as the monster itself was a product of twisted genetic experiments by Simyan and Mokkari.[1] Superman became aware of the monster's presence in the lake as he learned more about the Apokoliptian power base on Earth, but he elected to leave the creature be so long as he remained confident it was mostly docile and harmless. However, years later, an other-dimensional alien child with superior mental abilities compelled Superman to capture the Loch Trevor Monster for the benefit of the scientific community, in order to fulfill a wish made by a child in a small-town Superman fan club in Kansas.[2]

- Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
