Lana-Rho[1] is one of Ally Allston's soldiers and the wife of Tal-Rho in the Inverse World.
History
Lana Lang was a bartender at a dive bar in Smallville. One day Kal-El and Tal-Rho came into her bar to celebrate learning that Kal's wife Lois was pregnant. Tal-Rho impulsively announced he would buy everyone's drinks for the night, and despite Tal's great wealth Lana insisted that he give her a credit card in advance, impressing him. The two fell in love and were quickly married.
Fifteen years later, Lana's nephew Jon-El joined Ally Allston's movement. He invited Tal and Lana to meet with Ally and they agreed, hoping to mediate between Jon and his parents. They decided that Ally's message made sense and Lana became a fanatical follower of Ally. Kal-El had sworn to stop Ally so many of her followers, including Lana, used Green Kryptonite to give themselves superpowers to allow them to fight him. Lana and Jon also broke into the Department of Defence and stole X-Kryptonite weapons developed by Project 4377 which could harm Kal-El.[2]
Ally and her followers eventually seized control of the government, and Ally made her headquarters in the Department of Defence. Lana lead the Kryptonite-powered soldiers who protected her. Kal-El attacked the DoD to steal Ally's pendant, which she needed for her ultimate plan to fuse their world and it people with their inverse. Lana and her men fought Kal-El in a yellow-sunlight filled corridor when he tried to attack Ally. Despite the sunlight weakening him and Lana's own superhuman strength and speed, Kal was able to fight his way through the soldiers to reach Ally and steal her pendant. He disappeared to the other world, hoping he would be able to destroy it.[3]
However, on the other Earth, Mitch Anderson, the counterpart of another of Ally's followers managed to obtain the pendant and deliver it to Ally's inverse.[4] Anderson and Ally were supposed to come through the portal together, bringing Ally's pendant and its counterpart from the other world, but Anderson came alone and fled with both pendants.
The other Ally eventually crossed over, followed by the other Kal-El, who was known as Superman. The Allys tracked Anderson to Kal-El's farm in Smallville, where Superman, Lois, her father Sam and Jon's brother Jordan had taken refuge. Lana and Tal-Rho fought and defeated Superman, taking the pendants. They gave them to the Allys who began to fuse together. The Allys gave Jon the merged pendant and told him to cross over and fuse with his other self. Tal-Rho, who had always been more ambivalent about Ally than Lana, blasted her away with a burst of Super-Breath and let Superman go to save his son.[2]
On the other world, Jon-El kidnapped her counterpart and used the pendant to communicate with her across the dimensional rift. He told Lana to come through and Lana emerged in the Shuster mines of the other world. John Henry Irons and Natalie were also in the mines collecting X-Kryptonite and Lana attacked them. The X-Kryptonite weakened Lana but she was still more than a match for the two. John attempted to shoot her with a red solar laser but this only made her stronger. As she was about to kill him, Natalie stabbed her in the chest with a shard of X-Kryptonite, and Lana fled back through the portal.[5]
By fusing together, the Allys gained the ability to travel between the dimensions under their own power. Ally went to the other world to retrieve the pendant but it was destroyed. She told Lana that she could still merge the worlds if she accumulated enough power, and drained the life force from Tal-Rho to become more powerful. Lana loved Ally more than her own husband and did not care that he was dead.[1] Ally then returned to the other world and drained Superman's powers as well, but as she was not sure he was dead she ordered Lana to cross over and kill him while she went into the void between worlds and used her new power to merge them together.[6]
Lana attacked the Kent Farm and easily overpowered Jordan Kent, but John Henry and Natalie arrived and she fled. To even the odds she broke Jon-El out of prison and provided him with Kryptonite to restore his powers. They tracked Superman to Smallville High School where he addressed a town hall meeting and warned them of the merge. Lana attacked Jordan Kent, who at that moment was talking with her counterpart and her daughter, while Jon-El went to the main hall to kill Superman. Once again Lana seemed to easily beat him, but Jordan heard Clark being attacked by Jon-El and was energised by his desire to protect his father. He fought Lana through the school and into the main hall where Jon-El was beating Clark and managed to temporarily get the upper hand over them both, but he was simply outnumbered and the two inverses began beating him down. However, Natalie arrived in her armour and carrying her father's hammer to help Jordan, and together the two of them defeated the evil dopplegangers. Lana and Jon were both taken into custody by the DoD.[7]
