• This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the DC Animated Movie Universe and is an adaptation of Bud and Lou the Hyenas. The original character was created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm and first appeared in the episode "Harley and Ivy" of the series Batman.
• While Bud and Lou are named after Abbott and Costello, the names Larry, Moe and Shemp are a reference to The Three Stooges.
