Lazarus of Bethany was a biblical figure whom Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead. He is an adaptation of a classic figure of the same name, and first appeared in Picture Stories from the Bible New Testament #2 (1944).
Lazarus' name inspired the creation of the League of Lazarus and the Lazarus Pit, a mysterious pit of eldritch waters with the power to restore life, and allowed its users to heal themselves of any wounds or even prevent aging to a certain extent.
In the Lazarus Planet event, the conflict between Devil Nezha and King Fire Bull caused the Lazarus Volcano on Lazarus Island to erupt, releasing mystical storms with Lazarus Resin worldwide, causing many people to gain new powers and abilities.
