The League of Lazarus is an enigmatic splinter organization of the League of Assassins that worships a demonic entity that inhabits the Lazarus Pit. They hold a death tournament every one hundred years for the greatest fighters in the world to participate in, in order to sacrifice the winner to the Lazarus Pit for the demon to bond with.[1]
History
The League of Lazarus was originally created by Ra's al Ghul as a splinter organization of the League of Assassins, that would focus on finding places where Lazarus Pits could be created. However, over the years Ra's' mother, Rúh al Ghul, spread her faith and worship of a demon that inhibited the Lazarus Pit. Her beliefs made way across the League, to the point that the League of Lazarus no longer answered to Ra's. They sided with Mother Soul in worship of the demon, which sparked a war, causing the League of Assassins and Shadows to attack the League of Lazarus, in order to gain control over the world's Lazarus Pits. The war was short-lived, due to the League of Lazarus' inferior training.[1]
