Synopsis for "The Jump, Part One"
On Apokolips, dog soldier Kaninsky fails in his task to bring the rebel D-Vo (who is giving the citizens of Armaghetto a glimmer of hope) to justice. Technically trapped on top of a Darkseid temple, the rebel takes a leap into the great unknown, just as Kaninsky sets off a huge explosion. Darkseid and Dessad are able to reanimate the soldier's head in order that the ruler of Apokolips may see Kaninsky's memories of the event. He is with Kaninsky in various character-forming experiences at Granny Goodness' Orphanage and witnesses his pursuit of the miscreant, who has some effect on the soldier. Kaninsky also thinks he catches a glimpse of the Black Racer, herald of death, reflected in the boy's eyes.
