Synopsis for "The Secret Origin of Blok!"
During training, Blok reveals his origin to three fellow members of the Legion Academy. Meanwhile, the Starburst Bandits escape the United Planets prison compound, and the Legion Academy try to round them up, but only Blok is initiated into the Legion of Super-Heroes for stopping the villains single-handedly.

- Crystal Kid, Lamprey and Nightwind were created by Legion fans in the late 1970s.
- The Flying Buttress was created by 20 year old fan Steve Mattsson from Portland, Oregon. He would later reuse this character in Superboy and the Ravers (Volume 1).
- Chris King's persona "the Moth" was created by Danny Vozzo, aged 14, from Brooklyn, New York.
