Synopsis for "The Future Is Forever!"
The whole Legion of Super-Heroes assembles for an anniversary ceremony, but not before Mon-El and Shadow Lass destroy a giant Khund spaceship in humanoid form and Brainiac 5 and Rond Vidar cure the psychosis of Douglas Nolan, brother of the late Ferro Lad, by allowing him to physically escape into an alternate time-line in which he replaces his dead brother in the Legion.

Trivia
- There are several cameos at the Legion anniversary ceremony (the last two pages), including: a Batman figure in the shadows, writer Paul Levitz, artists Keith Giffen and Larry Mahlstedt, Garfield the Cat and Spider-Man.
- Significantly, this issue shows that the future of the Adult Legion is not predestined for the Legionnaires. Shadow Lass survives the encounter defending the Science Asteroid, while in the Adult Legion story in Adventure Comics #354 she is shown as having died there.
