Notes

  • Unlike Legion of Super-Heroes (Volume 3) #16, this issue is bannered as a Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.
  • While this story was supposed to allow a reboot of the Legion for the Post-Crisis DCU, the effort was nullified by Cosmic Boy (Volume 1).
  • This story explains how the great multiversal Crisis can affect all eras of history simultaneously (LSH, JLA, Sgt. Rock, Kamandi, etc.), with Legionnaires surprised by the event despite it having occurred in their past; as the Crisis changes history, heroes' memories of their actions in the event are erased or rewritten.
    • The beacon at the Time Institute, and the Infinite Man's presence, temporarily hold back the Crisis's effects so those in the 30th century are somewhat aware that they are forgetting things. Mekanique had a similar effect on the All-Star Squadron in 1942.
    • Supergirl's death was inevitable regardless of the Crisis; see notes for Legion of Super-Heroes (Volume 3) #16. Rond's conversation with Brainiac establishes that they had expected her death in the past and there is nothing mysterious about it, but the Crisis itself, and related events such as Kid Psycho's death, are unexpected.
