Synopsis for "Origin of the Legion of Super-Heroes"

At the Brande Industries headquarters, Brande received a message from Reep about escaping Mordru. Fifteen years earlier, in Metropolis, Tayla told Marla that guards were beating a Durlan (who would later turn out to be R.J. Brande), so he intervened and saved him before convincing another Durlan named Theg to take him to Durla. Brande was unhappy on Durla, as his wife and Theg's sister Zhay had died of Yorggian fever, leading the two males to be sent into quarantine and his offspring raised by Theg's other sister, Ji.

In the present, Brande visited Marla in Metropolis and hired him to fill in for his "cousin Doyle", who was spending more time on his lavish lifestyle. After Doyle wasted his money and demanded more, Brande decided to divert his focus from him and decided that he should start "giving." Later, two gunmen attempted to assassinate Brande, but he was saved by Garth Ranzz, Imra Ardeen, and Rokk Krinn, leading him to decide to recruit the three and form "an entire group of Lar Gands." In their first case, the group attempted to confront Doyle for attempting to kill his "cousin." After the Legion of Super-Heroes was given official status by the United Planets, Phantom Girl and Triplicate Girl joined the team and eventually, Brande and Marla decided to add a Durlan member, in the form of Reep Daggle, in order to counteract the prejudice they faced.

In the present, Brande decided that he did not want to send a message in response, while on Zirr, after Laurel defeated some Khunds, she introduced Rokk and Rond to her daughter Lauren.
