Holocaust was a supervillain in Dakota City, given powers during the Big Bang. He was an original member of the Blood Syndicate, but later became a key figure in organized crime.
History
Until recently, Leonard Smalls Jr. was unaware of his true biological filiation[1].
He was once second-in-command of the Paris Bloods gang of Paris Island, Dakota before being recruited to the newly formed Blood Syndicate around the time of the disastrous yet eventful Big Bang event that gave several members powers.[2]
After a power struggle against Blood Syndicate leader Tech-9, Holocaust left Blood Syndicate and started mounting a new power base elsewhere in Dakota, briefly recruiting even young superhero (and fellow "Bang Baby") Static.[3]
Leonard's actions since generally involved a pursuit of greater power and influence. He was involved in the Shadow War, initially as a new recruit for the Star Chamber, and soon after was confronted by Icon who wanted information about the facts of the Big Bang event. Holocaust lost that confrontation, but refused to volunteer information and even voluntarily exposed himself to Quantum Juice once again, hoping to enhance his powers.[4]
Holocaust also participated in the controversial events related to the launching of the Utopia Park project[5] while also building a power base in Dakota's underworld and even directly addressing representants of the Coalition, who demanded that he let go of his valued codiname. For some time he answered to "Pyre" as a result.[6][7][8]
Holocaust eventually decided that the time was right to make his move. Recruiting from former associates from various groups, he formed a group that he called the "New Blood Syndicate" and confronted the Coalition again, threatening the representatives and establishing that they ought to pay him tribute and accept his resuming of the "Holocaust" alias.[9]

- Bang Baby
- Pyrokinesis: Holocaust can project massive amounts of flames from his body, he is even able to attack an enemy from below by directing the flames through the ground.
- Superhuman Strength: Holocaust is strong enough to hurt the likes of Superboy.
- Superhuman Durability Holocaust is incredibly durable, being able to survive combined attacks from Superboy and Wonder Girl without serious injuries. Static claimed that Holocaust can survive a fall into the Earth core, which is 5400 °C with a pressure of 3300 kilobar.
- Thermokinesis: Holocaust can make his body hot enough to melt any bullet shot at him and absorb heat. He can also cause objects in his line of sight to explode.
