Leslie Humphries was one of only a handful of people who knew that Wes Dodds was also the mystery man known as the Sandman.

Leslie Humphries worked as a butler to investor and industrialist Edward Dodds, and later to his son, Wesley. It was inevitable that he would learn of the younger Dodds' double life as a gasmasked vigilante,[citation needed] but true to the traditions of his profession, he never revealed it.
