Livewire was a criminal recruited by Tess Mercer.
History
Leslie Willis was a car thief, who had gained an eletrokinetic ability, after being infected by green Kryptonite. Willis was captured by LuthorCorp and taken to the Black Creek facility in Montana. She was revealed, when Tess Mercer closed the facility, and was soon recruited to a team, that Mercer was assembling. She trained with the team and was assigned the codename "Livewire". Mercer eventually sent them on a mission to locate Davis Bloome. However, Livewire and another member of the team, Neutron, found themselves confronted by Doomsday. Neutron was killed, while Livewire decided to quit the team. Because of this, Parasite absorbed her powers. A few hours later, Livewire was found dead. The result of an explosive device in her head going off. The exact details remain unknown. Clark Kent accused Mercer of being responsible for Livewire's death, but Mercer denied it and blamed it on an error in the device.

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Smallville and its tie-in and comic book series, Smallville and Smallville Season 11. It is an adaptation of Leslie Willis/Livewire. The original character was created by Bruce Timm and Paul Dini and first appeared in Superman Adventures #5.
Due to the timing of distribution, the original character appeared in print prior to "Livewire", which had been completed first, airing.
