Lester "Rocky" Davis was a member of the Challengers of the Unknown.

Rocky Davis was an Olympic medal-winning wrestler. Rocky was En route to appear on the radio program but was involved in a plane crash but miraculously survives along with three other men. The other men consisted of skilled pilot Kyle "Ace" Morgan, master skin diver Walter "Prof" Haley and circus daredevil Matthew "Red" Ryan. The four survivors decided that they were now all living "on borrowed time", and banded together to start their adventuring career as the Challengers of the Unknown.

When the group's headquarters was blown up, the Challengers disbanded. Years later it was discovered that Davis had succumbed to a life of luxury and been committed to an asylum. He rejoined the Challengers for various adventures.

Later, he served as a mentor for the second group to call themselves the Challengers, though the fate of that group is unknown.

Infinite Crisis

During the Infinite Crisis, he helped stop a prison break in Blackgate Prison. He and the rest of the Challengers were assigned to a space station to watch for signs of a group of heroes who were lost in space.

Final Crisis

By the time of the Final Crisis, Rocky had been ordained as a priest.[1] He is currently serving as a minister on Oolong Island, and advising the Doom Patrol.[2]

Abilities

  • Although this character was originally introduced during DC's Earth-One era of publication, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
