History

Born into the realm of the pocket universe, this Lex like his Earth-One counterpart admired his native universe's Superboy from afar. But unlike the teenage Earth-One Luthor, this Luthor was never able to meet his Superboy while Superboy was alive.

Thus, this Luthor incarnation was spared the accident and disappointment that turned the Earth-One Lex against the Earth-One Superboy. After a long absence when the Kents revealed that their adopted son was indeed Superboy and assumed him to be dead, Lex finally travelled to Smallville to express his true feelings of loss to the Kents. Inspired by his hero's selfless acts, young Lex stepped into the vacant heroic role of Superboy when the three murderous Kryptonian villians arrived on Earth and began killing people indiscriminately and openly destroying the entire planets.

Realizing that his scientific creations were not enough to stop them from murdering the human populace with casual disregard, Lex decided to recruit the known another dimensional Superman to aid the heroes native to his Earth. Unable to develop reliable dimensional travel that he could safely use in a short period of time, Luthor created a superhuman protoplasmic lifeform that would be able to survive the travel intact. This created lifeform would become Supergirl.

Luthor sent his created Supergirl through the dimensional void, but the transport was not accurate and partially wiped Matrix-Supergirl's memory. The problems from the transport confused her from immediately fulfilling her mission to bring back Superman to the pocket reality.

After a period of time and several adventures, Matrix Supergirl would recover her full memories and transport herself and Superman back to the pocket reality Earth. But the time Supergirl spent in the main DC universe allowed most of the Earth populace to be murdered by the Kryptonian rampaging over the Earth. Despite bringing back Superman to their Earth, the young heroic Luthor would ultimately fail in saving the few lives of that Earth, including his own.

But his sacrifice would allow the current Superman enough time to beat back the human genocide killers and permanently end their murderous rampage in a move some consider an act too drastic for a hero but was necessary for such wanton continual killers.

Only Matrix Supergirl would survive the onslaught of her native Earth after being almost killed herself by General Zod before Superman used the Kryptonite forms native to that reality on the three.
