Ley lines or, dragon lines, are the invisible channels of mystical earth energies that flow around the globe. Those with occult knowledge or spiritual abilities can draw energy from these sources. There are specific points around the world where these lines converge at nodes, making them sites of special significance in human history, due to their high concentration of magical power.
History
Locations
Stonehenge is one of the nodes from which great power can be draw from. When Morgan le Fey separated Etrigan from Jason Blood, the site empowered the Demon so greatly that he was able to fend off the Sentinels of Magic single-handedly.[1]
England has other sites of power, such as Glastonbury Tor in Somerset. Jason Blood knew the site radiated so much energy that the ancients buried it under a mound of chalk. Blood drew a pentacle at the site to easily create a gateway to Hell.[2]
In North Africa, in modern day Egypt, there is a close proximity of four lines where Ra's al Ghul created the first Lazarus Pit hundreds of years ago. By sleeping on the site, he experienced prophetic dreams which inspired him to create the life restoring solution at that location. He was able to find suitable locations around the world to create other pits.[3]
Gotham City has a single dragon line passing through it in a Northeastern direction. The ancient warlock, C'th, was buried under a serpent mount there before Europeans settled in the area. He was resurrected and followed the ley line, conducting rituals of blood sacrifice as he went to draw power from the earth. Batman and archaeologist, Harv Lichas, pursued the murderer which even took them past Wayne Manor.[4]
Trivia
- The technique of dowsing is connected to dragon lines.[4]
- It is possible ley lines are a form of piezoeletrical energy which Jason Blood has been able to absorb.[5]
