Lilith is a demonic being with enormous magic powers. She was the first woman created by God, to be the wife of Adam. When Lilith refused to obey Adam, she was cast out of the Garden of Eden by God. Lilith tamed the beasts of the night and went to birth a species of Demon called the Lilim.
History
Origins
Lilith was the first woman created by God, modeled to be the wife of Adam, the first man. When Lilith refused to obey Adam and their father, she was cast out of the Garden of Eden and God created another nameless wife and, ultimately, Eve to fill her place.[2]
Lilith started wandering in a barren Earth, alone, but many angels visited her, and them she drafted a plan to exact her vengeance. She seduced many of the angels and birthed hundreds of children, the Lilim, a race of beings who didn't belong to any place in Creation, and who were loyal to themselves and to their mother only. Lilith lived outside the Garden of Eden with her children.
The only angel she liked, Lucifer, rebelled against God, inspired by her defiance against the Plan, but he lost the war against his brother Michael and he was sent to Hell. The angel Ibriel used the Lilim to construct the Silver City in Heaven, just to be spurned by the angels once the work was done, expelling the Lilith and her children to enter for all eternity to the city that they constructed.
She later joined forces with Jin En Mok Berim, Silk Man and the angel Sandalphon, and found a land where time and space flows like water, the Barrowjane, a place where she found minds that like her, searched the destruction of Yaweh.[3]
Lilith later takes control of the Lilim Camp, tortures Mazikeen and Briadach and expels Beatrice Wechsler. Before Briadach could convince her to stop her rebellion against Heaven, she killed him with her sword. After that, Lilith prepared an all assault against the Silver City.[4]
Modern Times
Against Supergirl
To revive Carnivore, one of her firstborn, she manipulated Mary Marvel and Bizarro Supergirl, to turn Linda Danvers, one of the Earthborn Angels, into a battery charged with Chaos, so she could be the key to freeing the Carnivore. As Linda travels across the country following the Flow of Chaos, Lilith has pulled the strings putting Linda and Etrigan-Buzz in trouble.
She appeared in Las Vegas disguised as a nun to prevent Linda and Buzz's wedding, where she separated Buzz from Etrigan. She then ordered Queen Mab to give Mary Marvel dreams of going to Las Vegas and planned a battle between the two heroines. She then waited for Linda in the Garden of Eden with the Earthborn Angel and Bizarro. When Linda arrives, Lilith uses Bizarro to control the Earthborn angel to attack the heroine. She was almost successful, but Twilight betrayed her and Buzz stabbed her with a Hell-Spawn Dagger and Linda pushes her to Hell.[5]
In Hell
In Hell, she supported Neron in his war for the infernal kingdom. He demanded Lilith to call her children back from Hell. Lilith and Belial later criticized Asmodel's ability to run Hell's defenses.[6][7]
Later, Lilith greeted Donna Troy and Bulleteer as they arrived at the Circle of Hell destined for Heresy. She reprimanded them for removing the lid on the tormented soul she was responsible for and then attacked them, claiming that Donna is a pagan and Bulleteer does not believe in God. During the fight, Donna realized that Lilth was holding an artifact that must have been her source of power; then Bulleteer was able to take the artifact out of Lilith's hand and the heroines managed to escape.[8]
