Two-Gun Lil was the nickname of Sheriff Lillian Peters who protected Sage City in the days of the Old West.

Lillian Peters comes from a family of sheriffs, including her father Sam Peters, sheriff of Sage City, and uncle Mike Peters, Sheriff of Eagle Rock.[3]

As a young girl, Lillian was encouraged by her father to hone her marksmanship and firearm handling. This lead to her developing an incredible proficiency with many different types of guns. As she grew, she would eventually leave to attend college in Boston, only to discover that her father was killed while she was away. Taking up the six-guns her father gave her,[4] she vowed revenge against her father's killers.

Lil met with Sage City Deputy Sheriff Bob Cross prior to the election of a new sheriff. Cross suspected Garson Cade or his outlaws would become sheriff in a rigged election. Recognizing him as a small-time gambler from when she was younger, Lil worked with Cross to investigate Cade. Donning more versatile clothes, Lil confronted Cade and his outlaws, getting a confession to convict them. With her act of heroism, the town pushed to elect Lil as their new sheriff.[5]

She would work closely with other law enforcement, like Marshal Seaton of Hondo City,[6] Sheriff Ames from Hangtown,[4] and government officials, including her state governor, who dispatched her to different locations where outlaws were present.[7] She also became the self-appointed Marshal of Perdita, and outlaw town of the Old West.[1]

However, she found herself on the opposite side of the law from time to time. When Tod Hunter was framed for theft and set to be lynched, Lil rescued him and the two fled with lawmen on their tails.[8] After exposing the true culprit, Lil rode off to the county seat only to discover the infamous Masked Man, Utt Milney and his Gang had been spotted nearby. Lil went with a posse to the hideout and made an arrest - only it was Utt Milney's partner, Nacia. As a trap for Milney, Lil donned Nacia's clothes and disguised herself in a wig and make-up. When the gang showed up to rescue "Nacia," Lil left a trail and unmasked Milney.[9]

Sometime after her return from Boston, Massachusetts, Lil would meet sheriff Sandy Drummond and begin a romance with him. However, they would fall out of contact for at least three years, during which time Drummond hung up his guns and married a woman named Clarice.[10] Her other romances did not fare much better, usually ending in failure[11] or death, as in Roy Lodge's case.[12]

Some others foes she would face off against included the nearly indestructible Big Bat McGrew,[6] the Weaver Brothers,[13] the Howling Ghost of Grim Gulch,[2] and Black Barney.[4]

Black Barney caused more trouble than the others when he confiscated Sheriff Sam Peters' guns from Lil. However, she managed to recover them with the help of Sheriff Bradley.[4]

The Outlaws of Eagle Rock

Outside of Sage City, Lil found herself helping her uncle, Sheriff Mike Peters, on several occasions. The first saw them taking down the outlaw Bat Devlin and his gang.[14] After getting shot by the Sheldon brothers, Sheriff Mike needed at least a month to recover. Swearing her in as the sheriff of Eagle Rock, Lil set out to avenge her uncle.

After arresting the first brother, she outmatched the other two in a shooting contest - which was meant to be an ambush, had she not anticipated the turn. She returned her uncle's badge before riding off again.[15]
