Sir Lionel Hawkins was an Englishman working for Checkmate as one of their Knights.

History

During Invasion!, he single-handedly put down a group of terrorists who had taken the House of Commons hostage, and were attempting to assassinate the Prime Minister and the Queen. They had allied themselves with the Alien Alliance, hoping that the forces invading Earth would give them preferential treatment and effect social change once they took power. Hawkins was shot as revenge for thwarting the terrorists actions shortly after successfully saving the Queen's life, although non-fatally. His direct superior immediately avenged him, and his work was a success.
