Lobo was a Czarnian bounty hunter who took a job for a Thanagarian, which involved destroying a building on earth, in Metropolis.

History

In destroying the building, Lobo encountered Superman, who tried to stop Lobo from causing anymore destruction. The two had a very brutal brawl in the streets of Metropolis, which ended when Superman threw Lobo into orbit.
