Lobo #1 is an issue of the series Lobo (Volume 1) with a cover date of November, 1990.
Synopsis for "The Last Czarnian (Part I of IV): Portrait of a Psychopath"
Vril Dox gives Lobo a new assignment. He is to travel to a detention facility on the planet Oneida VI, pick up a prisoner and escort her back to Cairn. What he fails to tell Lobo however, is that the prisoner is in fact a Czarnian. What's more, she is Miss Tribb, Lobo's fourth-grade grammar instructor.
After meeting up with Tribb, Lobo discovers that she is also the author of the Unauthorized Biography of Lobo – a best-selling holonovel that has recently hit the galactic circuit. Many readers however, feel that the novel represents an uncomplimentary portrayal of the "Main Man" and has earned as much criticism as it has praise.
Lobo and Tribb stop at the Scarf 'n Barf on Spacelane 66 for a rest before continuing on to Cairn. As per tradition, Lobo finds himself involved in a common barroom brawl. Ironically, he now fights to defend Mrs. Tribb, even though every fibre of his being wishes for her gruesome demise. Regardless, Lobo saves Mrs. Tribb from a gang of ruffians and continues towards Cairn.
