Hailing from a distant alternate future, Locus is a teenage alien super-villain with reality-warping powers, and a member of the malevolent group known as the Five. Petulant and violently vindictive, she developed an obsessive love for the Green Lantern of her time's Justice League.
History
Locus first encountered the Justice League when, while grousing about an ex-boyfriend (whom she had killed) at a bar, she was informed by fellow Five member Coeval of their presence on the planet. Easily convinced that the best remedy for her mood was some cold-blooded killing, Locus tracked the League down and engaged them in battle after some initial flirting with Green Lantern. Predictably, the 'fight' was a total rout in her favour with Locus killing the Flash and easily incapacitating the other heroes.[1]
Locus sent the rest of the League to Takron-Galtos, a prison-world that was once Earth. Lantern, however, had the extra misfortune of being shrunken, swallowed and taken to Locus's home on Locus One, a formerly-inhabited world she had remodeled several times with her powers. Locus kept Lantern in a cage and tried to force him into loving her, but her attempts failed. However, when a still-shrunken Lantern made his escape Locus furiously gave chase and, despite his best efforts to fight her off, she seemingly killed him by tearing apart his Power Cloak in the vacuum of space[2]. Locus later confronted an imprisoned Ariel Masters, the leading scientist of the Project which replicated the Justice League in the first place, and demanded that she remake a better version of Green Lantern before tossing him at her. This would later prove to be her undoing as Lantern was still alive, if a little rattled from his experience, and he and Ariel began putting a plan into motion to stop the Five.[3]
While the Justice League's ally Terry betrayed them by revealing himself to be the one who formed the Five in the first place, Locus and her allies raided Cadmusworld where, upon discovering the DNA vault used to recreate the Justice League, she started scheming to use them in making her own 'harem' of Hal Jordans[4]. Thankfully her absurd plans, and those of her teammates, were eventually foiled by the rallying Justice League, with Locus suffering not one but two defeats by Green Lantern.[5]
