Logamba is destitute and has been wracked with armed conflict for many years.
History
Recently an outbreak of smallpox took a toll on the populace, before an intervention by Superman. But not long after he left, Rebel Guerrillas massacred the field hospital and stole the supply of smallpox vaccine. At the same time the Government Army was wiping out a different village, also full of civilians. Superman returned to Logamba, and was shocked to see this situation, but was teleported away before he could act to change it.
