She was a colleague of editor Perry White, photographer/cub reporter Jimmy Olsen and fellow reporter Clark Kent. She was unaware that Kent was secretly Superman.

- This version of the character is exclusive to the continuity of the television series Adventures of Superman and is an adaptation of Lois Lane. The original character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and first appeared in Action Comics #1.
- In Superman and the Mole Men and the first season of Adventures of Superman, Lois was portrayed by Phyllis Coates. After that, Coates was replaced by Noel Neill.
- Lois originally had black hair. In later seasons, her hair was brown and finally red.
