Lois Lane was a spy sent by the Freedom Fighters to seduce Overman.

History

Overman fell in love with Lois , but when he learned of her betrayal, Overman personally executed her. This deeply traumatised him, and so Vandal Savage had his scientists suppress Overman's memories of her and his grief. Overman's memories were later restored by the Martian Manunter to incapacitate the rampaging Kryptonian. After the Fourth Reich were defeated, Overman surrendered to the Freedom Fighters, who allowed him to visit Lois' grave before putting him on trial for his crimes.
