Lois Lane is a bold and feisty investigative reporter for the Daily Planet newspaper in Metropolis. She is one of the hero Superman's closest allies, as well as his girlfriend.
History
Lois Lane is a journalist with the world-renowned Daily Planet news media organization based in Metropolis. When Clark Kent was hired by the Planet, editor Perry White assigned Lois to mentor him, much to her chagrin. Lois, Clark, and photographer Jimmy Olsen bonded while reporting on the confrontations between the Justice Gang, including newcomer Superman, with whom Clark allegedly has an exclusive interview deal, and the cybernetic assassin Metallo. After Metallo's defeat, Superman agreed to extend his "arrangement" with Clark to include Lois.[1]
In the present day, Lois is dating Clark, and is aware of his dual identity as the increasingly controversial Superman.[2]
