Lola Barnett src

Lola Barnett was a gossip columnist for the Daily Planet and also had a gossip show on WGBS TV which directly followed Clark Kent's evening news broadcast. She later left WGBS and came to work for its rival, United Broadcasting Company.[1]

She was a regular associate of Clark Kent for some years. On one occasion, Lola was replaced by an android (along with several other of Superman's friends) but Superman quickly discovered the deception.

Powers

  • Psychic Link: Lola had a telepathic link with her twin brother Mark Hall, though this only became active in times of stress.[2]

Abilities

  • This version of Lola Barnett, including all history and corresponding appearances, was erased from existence following the collapse of the original Multiverse in the 1985–86 Crisis on Infinite Earths event and later restored following the rebirth of the infinite Multiverse during the Dark Crisis of 2022-2023. Even though other versions of the character may have appeared, this information does not apply to those versions.
  • Lola Barnett was partially inspired by real-life gossip columnist Rona Barrett.
  • While Lola Barnett never made any post-Crisis appearances, the post-Crisis character Cat Grant plays much the same role in Superman stories that Barnett did.
