As a result of the New 52 in 2011, the entire line of DC characters was relaunched, incorporating properties belonging to the company's imprints: Wildstorm, Milestone, and Vertigo. As such, elements of this character's history have been altered in some way from the previous incarnation. For a complete list of all versions of this character, see our disambiguation page. |
The Losers were a World War II military unit that were frequently tasked with handling the stranger assignments during the war. They were famous for their bad luck, hence their name.
History
During one mission to stop General Electric in Nanda Parbat, the Losers discovered a time-displaced Forager who helped them along the way. However, the Losers' memory of the event was wiped away by Rama Kushna.[1]
The Losers' last mission was when they were sent to Dinosaur Island. All of their members besides Cpt. Storm perished as Storm survived until the modern day, never realizing World War II had ended.
Notes
- Losers was created by Robert Kanigher, first appearing in G.I. Combat #138. However, in the Prime Earth continuity, Losers first appeared as part of the New 52 DC Universe in Superman (Volume 4) #8 by Peter J. Tomasi, Patrick Gleason, and Doug Mahnke.
