Luau was the High Priestess of Oompah, an enemy of the Inferior Five.
History
Luau lives in Oompah, a lost colony of Atlantis located in Africa atop a high mountain. As High Priestess, it was her duty to offer human sacrifices to the Sun-God at certain times. One of these times, Darwin of the Apes discovered Oompah and Luau became smitten with him. However, fearing being accused of heresy, she attempted to sacrifice him. The attempt failed and Darwin escaped, having stolen from Oompah's vault before leaving. This pattern continued for a few years.
Luau witnessed one of Darwin's returns to Oompah, this time with the Inferior Five, searching for Dr. Livingroom, whom they tracked to Oompah. Once more, Luau attempted to sacrifice Darwin along with the Inferior Five, despite Darwin's coaxing for her to give up human sacrifice. Luau, with a ceremonial sword, begins the ritualistic chant when Darwin calls the elephant Tantrum. The elephant rampages through Oompah, destroying many structures. Luau and the other Oompanians flee the elephants wrath.[1]

- Although this character was originally introduced as an inhabitant of DC's Pre-Crisis Earth-Twelve reality, their existence following the events of the 1985–86 limited series Crisis on Infinite Earths remains intact. However, some elements of the character's Pre-Crisis history may have been altered or removed for Post-Crisis New Earth continuity, and should be considered apocryphal.
