Lucifer Morningstar is a rebel angel who led an insurrection against Heaven and has since ruled in Hell. He broke into John Constantine's home to demand that he retrieve his wings stolen by the demon Despondeo, who John conjured from Hell thirty years ago and possessed the deceased body of Billy Henderson, John's childhood friend who died because of him, and Despondeo has recently returned to steal the Devil's wings.[2]
